CDi 2000 Crown Power Amplifier

The CDi Series of Crown amplifiers deliver professional detailed, uncolored power. The Crown CDi2000 is so versatile in can be used in a variety of installations such as clubs, churches, meeting halls, and live performances. CDi stands for "Contractor Digital Integration" and this particular series is specifically designed for permanent sound installations.

The back panel includes the power cord connection (removable cord), USB HiQnet connector for PC control, the cooling fan, and the input/output connections. First, the CD21000 is HiQnet compatible an underlying software technology which makes communication between software packages and HiQnet devices possible. HiQnet is a system architecture software that allows devices to be arranged by both their physical and logical placement allowing the designer to 'educate' System Architect about how they are to be used. In return the software is able to provide automation of many of the laborious system design tasks for free. This is why I would recommend the Crown CDi Series for small to medium churches, halls, and auditoriums.

Also, since the CDi2000 is designed for permanent installations, the connectors are not what you would see on your typical amp, but instead are a four-position barrier strip for the outputs. The inputs require Phoenix-type connectors. Crown recommends that you use two conductor shielded wire for the inputs and include a small package of five spade lugs for direct connection to the barrier strip.

Finally, the CDi2000 offers up to 20 DSP presets. Such presets include, Crossover, Bridge Subs, Bridge, and Subharmonic Synthesizer. You can customize and save presets using the HiQnet Architecture Software. The DSP can also be used to route your signal, select the number of channels, EQ to be applied and delay.

Ideal for commercial sound installations the Crown CDi 2000 power amplifier can be used as a 70v 140v amp to drive a large number of speakers over a large area of long distance.
