How to properly connect speakers
One of the most common mistakes made when connecting speaker wires to receivers (or amplifiers) is incorrect phase. The correct phase should be (+ to +) and (- to -) on both receiver and speakers. All receivers and speakers have a positive (+) and negative (-) terminal (or connector) and the speaker wires must be connected the same way on both components. Meaning, the negative terminals on the receiver connected to the negative terminals on the speaker and the positive terminal on the receiver must be connected to the positive terminal on the speaker for both left and right channels. Typically the negative terminal is represented by a (-) sign or the color black and the positive by a (+) sign or red color.

All of Theater Solutions speakers not only blow the popular name brands out of the water, but they are super simple to install. Every speaker has a unique dog legged design. Simply turn the screws in the front of the speaker, a leg in the back of the speaker flips out, moves down a special designed channel and holds tight to the inside of the drywall. It is that simple, no other hardware required. Simply cut the hole, plug in the wires, turn the screw and you are done!!
How to install in wall volume controls.
1.) Use a stud finder to determine where the studs are located in the area you have selected to place the volume control, typically close to the light switch.
2.) Run 4-Conductor speaker cable from the amplifier (positive and negative for both the left and right channel) to the volume control. Similarly, run 2-conductor speaker cable from each of the first pair of speakers to the volume control. Label the cables for future reference.
3.) Measure the depth of the volume control to make sure your Volume Control will fit in the j-box you have purchased (one of the most common errors).
4.) Cut Hole for the 1-gang J-box and install J-box, but do not screw into place.
5.) Connect the speaker cable to the volume control:
a. Strip 1/4” of insulation from the end of each cable
b. Tightly twist the wires in each cable until there are no frayed ends.
c. Insert the 4-conductor speaker cable from the amplifier into the input terminals.
d. Insert the two 2-conductor speaker cables from the first pair of speakers into the output terminals.
6.) Connect additional speakers in parallel
7.) Make sure that all connections between your amplifier and the volume control, and between the volume control and each speaker, are in “phase”, that is (+) to (+) and (-) to (-).
8.) Turn the volume knob to the “off” position (all the way counterclockwise, turn on the amplifier, and test the functionality of the volume control.
9.) Screw J-box into place.
10.) Put on faceplate and screw in place.
How to choose the correct in wall and in ceiling speakers for your home.
The larger the room the larger in wall or in ceiling speakers you should use. The larger the cone the more radiating surface area. The larger driver has and will have an easier capacity for exciting the room. Larger in ceiling and in wall speakers usually will have higher efficiency ratings than smaller ones. This means with a fixed amount of power applied to the speaker, it will play louder than a speaker that has a lower efficiency rating.
How to paint Theater Solutions in wall and in ceiling speakers.
If you are painting to match a wall color use a well-thinned paint and try not to block the grille's holes as it will diminsh the sound quality. High quality spray paint produces the best results, but if your wife colors your interior walls like mine does, spray paints not an option. Use the cut-out template to cover the speaker elements during painting.
How to install Theater Solutions outdoor speakers.
Theater Solutions makes many outdoor speakers, but only two kinds of mounting systems, Omni-directional and “U” bracket. With both you’ll want to place the speaker where it will not be rained on, snowed on or in direct sunlight all day, best if placed under eaves. You want to make sure you wire the speakers with a wire rated for outdoor use. For both systems you need to attach the mounting hardware to the house or fixed wall first and then attach the speaker to the mounting hardware. After that you can aim the speaker in the right direction and secure it firmly to the mounting system.

How to choose the correct woofers and enclosures for your vehicle.
When choosing woofers and enclosures for your vehicle you must keep several things in mind. Make sure the woofers you choose can handle the wattage produced by your car audio system. When choosing an enclosure, make sure you look at the dimensions of the box to insure that it will fit in the intended area in your vehicle. You also want to make sure that the woofer cut out hole and mounting depth will accept your woofers. A manufacturer will call a woofer 12” when the actual cut out hole for an enclosure is only 11”.
